Hailing from Italy and now calling London home, singer/songwriter Miliella brings a gentle intimacy to “Wait for Me.” Delicately finger-picked guitar sets the scene before her surprisingly self-assured vocals enter, giving the song an immediate sense of presence. Written while living away from home, “Wait for Me” reflects on distance, belonging, and how the people and places we leave behind continue to shape us.
The song never loses its soft touch, even as it gradually swells and expands, making room for something bigger without disturbing its intimacy. “Wait for Me” offers a first glimpse of Miliella’s forthcoming EP, The Maze, due in January. Miliella (Emilia Mammino) says:
