Dalia - Samsara

There's more going on beneath this dream-pop haze than it lets on.

Dalia - Samsara

Snare hits that sound eerily like smashed dishes may hint that the lush, dreamy soundscape is not about a sunset romance. Quite the opposite: the London-via-Spain singer-songwriter Dalia sings about domestic abuse. But her message is less about the suffering and more about the heroic resilience of her sister, and the human ability to overcome even the darkest times. It is hard not to be moved.

Dalia explains:

‘Samsara’ is written from the perspective of my older sister, who spent years trying to protect me from the violence at home. It’s a song about surviving, carrying the weight of things no child should have to witness, and finding hope beyond the life you grew up in. At its heart, it’s a reminder that pain isn’t permanent, and that it’s possible to break free from the cycles we’ve inherited,
