You no longer know what you’re doing right or wrong. On paper, things may seem manageable, but by the end of the day, you still feel miserable. “MISERY,” the new song by ugly ozo, aka Jessica Baker, turns that spiral of self-doubt into a fiery pop song, balancing sharp self-critique with an almost playful energy.

She explains:

Lyrically it’s a heavy nod to everything I don’t like about myself and all my weaknesses, including being a people pleaser, which is something I don’t like in other people even though I’m a sucker for it myself. It’s a really honest take on that, and not something I would reveal out loud to anyone, but it’s on the EP now so I guess it’s too late

"MISERY" is on ugly ozo's second EP, dive out now on REX RECS. Listen to our Song Pick of the Day on Apple Music, Spotify, or watch the video starring her sister Boo, who plays bass in her band. Get one carefully chosen song like this in your inbox every day.
