trentemøller - Terrified
Lose yourself in synths that shimmer with an almost human, otherworldly quality.
A new release by Danish electronic artist trentemøller always feels like an event to me. I have been a huge fan for years, drawn to the unpretentious flow of his music and the way it invites you into its own world. Seeing him live only deepened that admiration: no fuss, just an utterly absorbing performance.
“Terrified,” featuring Jonas Bjerre, is dreamy and otherworldly, the kind of track to get completely lost in and immediately play again. Yet beneath its beauty lies the unease of dreams that anticipate disasters which may never happen.
About his newest release trentemøller says:
“‘Terrified’ is probably the poppiest song on the album. In its original form it sounded a lot more shoegazey, but I wanted it to be crisper and clearer, less washed out. So I went for synths that almost sound like human voices, with a magical, otherworldly quality to them.”
