SXSW Day 3 (part 1): Ibeyi // Honduras // Highly Suspect
This was the day when I wanted to see Ibeyi, my number one must see for this year. I saw them, kind of: there was a 90 minutes line at the Spotify House and most of the show I attended from behind a noisy generator. We made it in for the two last songs, one of them Weatherman, one of my favorites on the album. They were wonderful on stage and I’m looking forward to see them again tonight.
From their we went to a day party at the AMLI Downtown, an apartment complex with a nice courtyard and pool. There a we saw a set of Honduras a Brooklyn alternative rock band, who reminded me a lot on Wolf Alice minus Ellie Rowsells’s voice. After them we saw Highly Suspect once more. Both bands were a little out of place in bright sunshine, but they sounded great nonetheless.
