Rorey - Sudden Death

Rorey turns overpowering attraction into a slow-burning pop song that feels both intimate and unsettling

Rorey - Sudden Death

“Sudden Death” dwells in the moment when attraction stops feeling safe and turns all-consuming. Over a slow-burning production, the New York singer-songwriter Rorey describes desire as something physical and disorienting, where every thought spirals back to the same person. Released yesterday, the song is the third single from her upcoming album Temporary Tragedy.

Rorey explains:

" 'Sudden Death' admits defeat before the game ever begins because I already knew I lost to my feelings for this person. It's also an innuendo for intense desire that goes far beyond yearning into borderline obsessive memories that held me hostage in the past I projected onto the present."
