Robber Robber - Pieces

Robber Robber turn upheaval into something strangely hypnotic on their tense new single “Pieces.”

A guitar sounds like an alarm throughout the song, like a never-ending emergency. For Nina Cates and Zach James of the Vermont band Robber Robber, that sense of urgency came from real life after being evicted from their long-time home. “Pieces” is the fourth single off Robber Robber’s excellent second album Two Wheels Move the Soul, out April 3 via Fire Talk.

Nina explains:

This song is about trying to get the whole thing, but only managing to get pieces of it. Or thinking you have the whole thing, and seeing it get picked apart slowly or shattered in an instant. It’s about building your dream out of rusty scrapyard bits and navigating difficult terrain with no map. Every day mental gymnastics, echolocation, wading slowly through murky water.
