Marci - Butterfly Sticker [Video]

Marci, the project of Montreal-born songwriter Marta Cikojevic, has a gift for making songs feel like they are floating just above the ground. Her new single "Butterfly Sticker" is no exception.

Built around a beautiful melody, the track unfolds with a restrained rhythm, soft synth textures, and a dreamy atmosphere that feels almost weightless. There is a playful quality running through the song, but also a sense of nostalgia, enhanced by subtle touches of '80s-inspired synths.

"Butterfly Sticker" introduces Marci's upcoming album, Mask Lady and Late Night Girl, due August 28. The title was inspired by an encounter in Los Angeles between Cikojevic and a mysterious masked woman she often saw in her neighborhood. As Marci explains:

"Late Night Girl is out partying and having a good time—you know, the sun's never gonna rise, we're never gonna die. And Masked Lady is the one keeping all of those feelings inside."
