At first glance, Mandrake Handshake didn't immediately resonate with me. Then an intriguing press photo caught my attention, and "En Vol" did the rest.
Beautifully floating, cosmic, and hypnotic, "En Vol" unfolds with sparse, deliberate instrumentation and an almost jazzy touch before captivating vocal harmonies draw you even further into its warm, utopian world. The guitar lovers among us will find the wait well worth it when a gorgeous, laid-back solo finally arrives, adding another irresistible layer without ever disturbing the song's mellow flow.
By the end, I was completely hooked. "En Vol" is every bit as addictive as its spellbinding atmosphere suggests.
