Danish singer/songwriter and fuzz-loving guitar player Lauritz Carlsen creates atmospheric indie-rock as Lou Z  and recently released his album Holes for the Hearts. The record's title track is a prime example of Lou's sound and the all-encompassing vibes he creates. Asked about the album, Lou says:

"The songs are about many different themes and ideas. Books, movies or other cultural stimuli can set off songs, and of course personal experiences and all the messy thoughts in my head that need to get out somehow. Also I was down with stress a few years back – sick and unable to work for a good while. That was not very pleasant, but it gave me a new outlook that gave birth to new songs too."

We went with the instantly catchy "Holes for the Hearts," our Song Pick of the Day, and we encourage you to listen to the entire album because there's more of the cool. For example, when you're into cover versions of super hits, then you must not miss Lou Z's version of Ace Of Base's "All That She Wants," a take on the classic that immediately landed in my "Cool Covers" playlist.
