"'The Difference' is such a slow burn that builds into a euphoric, cathartic breakdown, and it truly was a labor of love from everyone who played on the track. It’s about dissociation, feeling sunken into your own repeating loop/patterns and finding indifference in it. You can hear the dissociation sonically during the outro, where every instrument feels like it's existing in its own world but somehow they all still work together. I also pushed myself to be more experimental with my voice on this song, playing with more vocal flips, spoken word, and percussive vocal rhythms throughout it. That playfulness and curiosity with my music is what I’m leaning into, and this song is a perfect depiction of that.”
