George Bloomfield - Sun Soaked Skin

The title alone made me fall for George Bloomfield's new song. As July slowly gives way to August, "Sun Soaked Skin" feels like a gentle reminder to make the most of these long, sun-filled days and soak up every bit of warmth while they're here.

The Brighton-based singer-songwriter wraps that feeling in an effortlessly inviting melody, pairing laid-back production with shimmering steel guitar and gentle acoustic strumming. It's the kind of song that seems to slow time for a few minutes, inviting you to breathe a little deeper and enjoy the moment. "Sun Soaked Skin" may very well become my favorite song of Summer 2026.

Written and recorded during a surf trip through Brittany, "Sun Soaked Skin" carries the freedom of life on the road. Bloomfield transformed a vintage campervan inherited from his late friend and musical collaborator into a recording studio, and that spirit of openness lingers throughout the song.
