Elanor Moss - The Way That it Feels
A delicate web of fingerpicked guitar and birdsong, Elanor Moss' "The Way That it Feels" finds beauty in love's quiet contradictions.
London-based singer/songwriter Elanor Moss strips "The Way That it Feels" back to its essence. Accompanied only by her delicate fingerpicked acoustic guitar and a backdrop of birdsong, her whisper-soft voice carries a quiet meditation on the contradictions of love. Halfway through, the song gathers just a touch more intensity, though never enough to break its intimate spell. Instead, it asks for something increasingly rare: our full attention.
Speaking about the song, Elanor says:
"This was the last song written for the album, and feels to me like it sums up the spirit of the record. The more I learn about love the less I know, the more I know about someone, the more I know I don’t know them. It feels like an appropriate last song for an album about paradoxes; love asks us to hold contradiction without giving in to its discomfort. A song about not turning away, but turning towards.”
With "The Way That it Feels," Elanor Moss offers a beautifully understated glimpse into her forthcoming debut album, The Knife, The Needle. It's a song that reveals its quiet strength the more closely you listen.
