Dream Prescription - Wave Cafe
With “Wave Cafe,” Dream Prescription turns fleeting summer memories into something quietly tender and deeply human.
I didn’t see this coming. When I first heard “Wave Cafe,” my mind immediately jumped to “Street Cafe,” a song by an Australian band that accompanied much of my early adulthood. I loved that song deeply back then and still do — and I realized I instinctively projected that same affection onto Dream Prescription’s new track. Thankfully, it doesn’t disappoint.
Asked about the inspiration, Tim Roberts says:
“The song was inspired by summer days years ago that my wife, my daughter and I would spend at Long Beach, near where we live in NYC. At that time our daughter was 7 or 8 and she was joyful and fun-loving. Now as a teenager she isn't as carefree as she was back then, and I feel a bittersweet nostalgia for that time. With 'Wave Cafe', I tried to evoke that emotion but make the lyrics more universal by alluding to the changes time and distance can bring to an adult relationship."
“Wave Cafe” carries that quiet mix of warmth and longing — a song shaped by memory, time, and the way relationships evolve.
