Joyful, upbeat, and effortlessly catchy, the track doubles as a late-night party hit — helped along by subtle Talking Heads’ “This Must Be the Place” undertones that add warmth and familiarity without tipping into nostalgia for nostalgia’s sake.
Frontman Max Kerman explains:
“The pull of money is hard to escape. It’s tangled up in vanity, competition, ego, and dreams of the future — but it’s a godless place to live. There are so many invisible forces that guide us, and we're trying to keep money from sitting too high on the list. We felt like the song was almost there, when we realized John from Portugal. The Man––our favourite American with a streak rebellion––was exactly the voice to bring it home.”
