Tropics - Ionian Mirage

Known for his dreamy, vocal-driven electronica, British producer, composer, and live musician Chris Ward — aka Tropics — serves up another irresistibly delicious track with his new single, "Ionian Mirage." I loved it instantly: it’s the kind of song that feels perfect for hot summer days and cold winter nights. The video, however, leans fully into summer—it was shot in Italy, and it’s absolutely gorgeous.

Asked about "Ionian Mirage," Chris shares:

“This song was about wanting to be on the other side of the world. I was lost in memories of the Mediterranean and Ionian Sea while being stuck in Los Angeles, writing my album and navigating a tough moment in life. It’s about trying to refine that spontaneous feeling which can tend to boil up, listen to yourself when your body and your mind want to run away somewhere, with someone.”

Tropics’ upcoming album Reality Fever is set for release on September 3, 2025 via Modern Entity.
