Susie Mills - Green Light
“Green Light” turns stillness into something quietly freeing.
“Green Light,” the new song by Bath-based singer/songwriter Susie Mills, delights with a quiet flow and an infectious sense of ease. There’s something in the story behind the song that immediately resonated with me — the idea of constant dreary weather as a starting point.
All the more striking, then, how Susie Mills transforms that feeling into something so light and inviting, channeling a sense of being stuck into a song that gently opens outward.
Susie says:
“I wrote this song at a time when life felt really stagnant and monotonous, which seemed to mirror the constant dreary weather. I was also feeling really suffocated in my living situation, so writing “Green Light” became a way for me to acknowledge and embrace the fact that it was time for me to move out and move on to new things.”
