From the opening moments, it's impossible not to hear the influence of Queen's grand, theatrical productions, particularly the A Night at the Opera era. But what initially sounds familiar soon reveals its own identity.

The lavish arrangement embraces all the drama and larger-than-life spirit of classic glam rock, yet Sutherland wisely never tries to sound like Freddie Mercury. Instead, he leans into his own naturally darker vocal register, allowing those soaring harmonies and theatrical flourishes to feel like an homage rather than an imitation. If anything, his vocal delivery occasionally reminded me more of David Lee Roth than Mercury. Perhaps that's why the song works so well. It never hides its influences, yet it never loses its own identity.

Admittedly, if Queen has never been your thing, this style may not win you over. But if you've ever found yourself smiling at a gloriously over-the-top rock production, there's a good chance "Somebody's Gonna Love Me" will do exactly the same.
