Just when I thought the new song by Australian pop duo Sametime might be unusually mellow and stripped down, “Is This The End” breaks out into a full-blown, anthemic belter. Okay — things are all right again.
Brothers Tim and Sam Aitken recently left Australia to call Brighton, U.K., their new home, and their brand-new single captures exactly that kind of leap-of-faith moment. Is This The End is also the title of their EP, released today, which features five fabulous pop songs. Another instant favorite from the record is “I Don’t Know Much (But I Know That I Need You)”.
Speaking about today’s release, Tim Aitken explains:
“This song is the most personal song we have. It’s about when we first moved to the other side of the world, away from everything we’ve ever known. The song is more of a diary entry of everything going through our heads. It’s about coming to terms with sacrificing time with our friends and family, knowing it was potentially that it could be the last time we’d see some of them.”
