Occasionally, we have to break our own rules and do something we swore we never would. That’s exactly what Sam Varga did with “Minute Man.” He once vowed never to write a political song — and yet here it is. And it resonates.

Wrapped in an infectiously upbeat vibe, a stomping rhythm, and a sing-along melody, “Minute Man” feels like the kind of anthem we’ve been waiting for — one that captures the unease and urgency of the moment without preaching. The Nashville-based singer/songwriter, whose sound lives somewhere between alt-country and indie rock, says:

“We’re all made to feel like it’s the end of the world every day—whether it is or isn’t is above our clearance level. So I wrote it like a sonic inkblot test. The song doesn’t point fingers. What you love—or hate—about it probably says more about you than it does about me.”
