Asked about the inspiration, Mia shares:
“I wrote 'Let Me Be' as a final goodbye. It is a song filled with frustration and a deeply relatable yearning for isolation from a dead-in-the-water relationship. The song is about breaking free from a person who just won't let go and I wrote the lyrics to express all the things I left unsaid."
Producer Martin Rossiter, who helped Mia shape the sound to match the intensity in her words, adds:
“I’m very picky and I don’t ever work on music that I feel someone won’t fall in love with. Go and fall in love, I did.”
