Lowly - Softy
The Danish band is back with their fourth album and a beautiful "ode to our emotional core"
When I saw the Danish quintet Lowly playing SXSW in 2019, they could even fill a corporate function room at the Convention Center with the warmth of their music. So "Softy," the title of their new single and the upcoming album, is apt for a band that develops their music together in jam sessions. Guitars, synths, drums, and the voices of Nanna Schannong and Soffie Viemose all flow together organically for a calming experience.
The band explains:
Softy is an ode to our emotional core; how we build and train our emotions like any other muscle in our body; that our emotional muscles easily weaken and strengthen with our outward actions. And in this state of mind, the lyrics revolve around the thought that we, through relationships and parenthood, completely devour all emotion and love from our closest relations in order to maintain and build our emotional core.
