If my most recent Song Pick was already brimming with nervous energy, “White Gown” takes it up a notch. The track pairs a melodic, super-catchy hook with a fierce beat that pulses relentlessly on. When it was still summer, I came across Low Girl and their magical song “Handbreak,” announcing their debut album. Now, “White Gown” closes that circle as Is It Too Late To Freak Out is about to drop on October 24, 2025.
Frontwoman Sarah Cosgrove says:
“The experience of starting a relationship at the start of your twenties, reaching all the expected milestones of moving in together, engagement, and then breaking up in your late twenties, is quite disorientating. I know I’m certainly not alone in that sequence of events, but I felt really inspired to write about the chaos that followed as I tried to figure myself out again. The canvas for this track was provided by Tom and Bradley in the form of the opening riff. It was one of those songs where once we started jamming it out, the whole thing came together with surprising speed. The end result is something we are so excited about and proud of, and it feels like the energetic crux of the album.”
