On “National Disgrace,” Little Dog Star channels her LCD Soundsystem spirit into an irresistible indie rush.
The title song of Little Dog Star’s just-released EP kicks off with a high-energy piano intro that brings to mind Arcade Fire’s “Rebellion (Lies)”—or maybe, given the artist’s love for LCD Soundsystem, that’s where the real inspiration lies. The comparison ends there, though: the Manchester-born and London-based indie artist draws me in with her pleasant, expressive vocals and makes me want to listen to the entire EP with gusto.
