“Groovy” was the very first word that came to mind when I pressed play on “Falling in the Woods,” the latest single by Canadian singer/songwriter Jamie Hilsden, who releases his indie rock project under the moniker Large. The track moves with an unforced ease — relaxed but purposeful — and pulls you into its gently rolling groove before you even realize it.
“Falling in the Woods” is taken from Large’s upcoming album Marine Life, out January 30. Recorded largely live with a full band, the record leans into natural motion and human feel, favoring connection and atmosphere over polish. There’s space here, warmth, and a quiet confidence that makes the song linger long after it ends.
