Ladytron - Kingdom Undersea
A submerged world of steel and bloom — Ladytron’s “Kingdom Undersea” invites you in with an irresistible pull.
Ladytron's new single, “Kingdom Undersea,” may conjure a fleeting thought of Ariel, but this infectious, hard-hitting banger has nothing to do with Disney’s sweet score. Instead, it blasts straight through the icy New York weather and sends my mind drifting toward my own little Caribbean escape. But what did the British trio have in mind with this track?
If the lyrics are any guide, “Kingdom Undersea” builds a world of metal spires, marble walls, limbs of steel, and rhododendrons in bloom — a submerged sanctuary sculpted from intimacy, power, and escape. It’s classic Ladytron: a place both cold and tender, mechanical and deeply human, inviting you in with the refrain “come find me.”
Following the stellar “I Believe in You,” which we featured at the start of fall, “Kingdom Undersea” further whets our appetite for the band’s eighth full-length album, Paradises, out March 20, 2026.
Produced by Daniel Hunt and mixed by long-time collaborator Jim Abbiss (Adele, Editors, Arctic Monkeys), the album continues a creative partnership built on trust, atmosphere, and edge — a combination that has long defined Ladytron’s world. Jim Abbiss says about the upcoming album:
“When I heard the demos for ‘Paradises’ I was truly blown away. The variety in songwriting and arrangements reminded me of ‘Witching Hour’, but with its own unique atmosphere, sonics, and attitude that summed up all that I love about the band.”
