Fresh from the coast of Brighton in South England comes “Alibi,” the new single by Flavours — exciting proof that indie rock is alive and kicking, and as vibrant as ever. The four-piece is especially drawn to ’70s psych-rock, weaving those influences into their own texture-rich sound without ever feeling retro for retro’s sake.
Ben Archibald, the band’s main songwriter, says about the song:
“‘Alibi’ is about getting out and seeing what life has to offer, wanting to change and to break out of bad habits but still feeling them pull you back in. It came from trying to move forward while part of you is still looking for an escape, caught between the urge to grow and the patterns that keep finding a way to pull you back.”
