Dutch Mustard turns a plea to be heard into something built for shouting back.
"Hear Me Out" may sound like a last-ditch attempt to save a relationship after a communication breakdown. But with a stadium-ready sing-along chorus and 90s-tinged alt-rock, Dutch Mustard — the London-based singer-songwriter also known as Sarah-Jayne Riedel, or SJ — turns it into more of a universal call to talk to each other than a plea to one specific person.

This song is one of those moments, where it just falls out of the sky. Lyrically it talks about wanting to be seen and heard by a loved one. Not only because we should all be heard in a relationship (of any kind), but because it can save the relationship. Hear Me Out sonically travels through more stripped back moments, at the start of the song, then builds into a whirlwind wind of emotion and chaos. Ending in calm intimacy. This is a song for those who deserve to be heard.
