Durand Jones & The Indications - Really Wanna Be With You

Durand Jones & The Indications - Really Wanna Be With You

When it comes to modern nostalgia, Bloomington, Indiana, trio Durand Jones & The Indications could be seen as the male counterpart to Laufey. But while Laufey leans into a jazz-tinged cinematic vibe, Durand Jones & The Indications draw from the rich traditions of contemporary R&B and soul. Their fourth album Flowers just dropped, and one standout track is the extra smooth and soulful "Really Wanna Be With You," accompanied by a video directed by Alec Basse. "Really Wanna Be With You" reminds us that sometimes the only way out of heartache is to dance through it.

The trio is comprised of Aaron Frazer (vocals, drums, synthesizer), Blake Rhein (guitar, synthesizer, percussion, vocals), and Durand Jones (vocals), who says about their newest album:

"All of these songs touch on such mature topics, things that we never got to sing about before. We are all in our 30s, have all been through ups and downs in our personal lives and professional lives, and flowers are a sign of maturity, growth, spring, productivity."

Aaron Frazer adds:

"We took the spirit of play that started the project, and added in the wisdom and lessons we've acquired through the years."
