Donna Lewis & David Lowe - Meet Me
Donna Lewis’s “Meet Me” captures the thrill of first connection with sweet, powerful vocals and joyful, synth-driven momentum that’s impossible to resist.
Welsh singer/songwriter Donna Lewis has just released the bouncy, beautiful “Meet Me,” together with producer David Lowe. While I wasn’t previously familiar with Donna Lewis’s wider body of work, I of course know her 1996 super hit “I Love You Always Forever” — a song that sounded magical back then and still does today.
“Meet Me” feels like a luminous, bittersweet nod to late-90s and early-2000s electro-pop. Built on percussive synth pulses, delicate guitar strumming, ethereal vocal layers, and subtle string motifs, the track taps into the emotional DNA of early electronic classics without feeling nostalgic for nostalgia’s sake.
Lyrically and atmospherically, the song captures two people suspended in a fleeting moment — meeting “under the floodlights,” in that liminal space between certainty and possibility. Time slows, the world fades out, and everything narrows down to the intensity of first connection, carried by repetition, light, and just enough silence to let the feeling breathe.
What made me fall in love with “Meet Me” from the get-go are Donna Lewis’s vocals. They’re feminine and sweet, but not without power — there’s a quiet strength and magnetism beneath them that’s impossible to escape. Add the joyful, synth-forward dancefloor production, and the spell is complete. My new favorite song of 2026.
