Cali five-piece Culture Wars keep raising the bar: “In the Morning” hits with that instant pull, the kind of song you fall for right away — and it’s truly so, so good. The track dives into that hazy, vulnerable moment of self-reflection: waking up alone, hungover, and wishing someone were there next to you.

Singer Alex Dugan says:

“It’s that feeling of trying to convince someone (who probably shouldn’t) to come over and make you a little less lonely. Written as my former self — I’m very happily married now.”

Culture Wars describe “In the Morning” as a creative turning point. After opening for LANY at the Philippine Arena, they wanted to capture that massive, cinematic energy in the studio — and you can hear how it reshaped their path. They explain:

“The mix and production changed the way we hear the album — it’s now dictating where we’re headed sonically. I’d definitely call this song a turning point — the new album will follow this sound (and moving forward).”

The band’s debut full-length album, titled if not now, when?,  will arrive in early 2026. Listen to "In the Morning," our Song Pick of the Day, and enjoy the music video directed by Eliot Lee:
