Beverly Hell turns the rise and fall of a relationship into a dramatic three-minute “Drug Opera.”
Beverly Hell, a singer, songwriter, and producer based between London and Los Angeles, recounts the cycle of a troubled relationship in a three-minute mini opera. Act I builds the tension before the fantasy crashes down in Act II, where a dramatic shift in the music mirrors the fallout and leaves the narrator in need of recovery and emotional detox.
Beverly Hell says:
I’ve seen a lot of relationships where one person can’t see the other one clearly, and it ends up destroying the connection. Early on they are this perfect angel who can do no wrong, and then inevitably, when they turn out to be human and flawed, they become the villain. I wanted to explore that through the lens that fantasy is a drug that comes with withdrawals.
