# Vicky Farewell - Sunburn

Los Angeles-based indie-pop artist [**Vicky Farewell**](https://new.glamglare.com/artist/vicky-farewell?ref=glamglare.com) returns with the instantly lovable "Sunburn," a song steeped in 70s sound and atmosphere. It brings to mind cruising along a California highway with the windows down, yet its sunny disposition is not quite as carefree as it first appears.

We first featured Farewell in March 2022 with "[Kakashi (All of the Time)](https://www.glamglare.com/music/vicky-farewell-kakashi-all-of-the-time)," followed by "[Tern Me On](https://www.glamglare.com/music/vicky-farewell-tern-me-on/)" in March 2024\. About her new single, Vicky says:

> “I wrote ‘Sunburn’ in the summer of last year (2025), and what followed was a months-long bout of writer's block. I think at the time, I had so much I wanted to say, so I just unloaded everything I was feeling at that moment. Just like my other singles, this one took one day to finish writing. Some sadness, growth, and fragility all happening in the middle of summer. I always wanted to play with the duality of pain and pleasure, and I think a sunburn is the perfect metaphor for that.”
