# The Weather Station - Neon Signs

Toronto's [**The Weather Station**](https://new.glamglare.com/artist/the-weather-station?ref=glamglare.com), fronted by **Tamara Lindeman**, announces a new album with their beautifully atmospheric new single "Neon Signs." Titled [*Humanhood*](https://new.glamglare.com/album/the-weather-station-humanhood?ref=glamglare.com), the album is due out January 17 via Fat Possum. From its vibe and feel, "Neon Signs" could also fit on The Weather Station's previous album [*Ignorance*](https://new.glamglare.com/album/the-weather-station-ignorance?ref=glamglare.com), which we often enjoyed spinning.

Tamara says about the new song: 

> “I wrote “Neon Signs” at a moment of feeling confused, upside down, at that moment when even desire falls away, and dissociation cuts you loose from a story that while wrong, still held things together. The song came with multiple strands entwined; the way that something that is not true seems to have more energetic intensity than something that is, the confusion of being bombarded with advertising at a moment of climate emergency, the confusion of relationships where coercion is wrapped in the language of love. Ultimately though, isn’t it all the same feeling?”

That's such an important question and worth untangling! Tamara directed the "Neon Signs" video together with **Jared Raab**, and it depicts a journey through different sets of eyes, perpetually shifting perspectives between people and objects. Watching the highly compelling piece can make you feel a little dizzy, yet it's such a stunning visual that matches the song's essence. I fell in love with the song first before I watched the video, but as usual, Tamara knows what she's doing. This is fantastic!
