Atlanta quintet, [**The Future Babes**](https://glamglare.com/artist/the-future-babes?ref=glamglare.com), released the joyful “Don’t,” all the while tackling emotions caused by an experience we basically all have been through at least once, if not several times in our lives. I am referring to heartbreak, be it at a young(er) age or older(er) age, which doesn’t really matter because, quite frankly, it always sucks. The only advantage of experiencing it at an older age is that one is able to judge it as what it is, and one possesses the knowledge that this will pass too and that THE one will eventually come one day. It’s not all over yet! Far from it.

I liked the charming melody and mellow vocals, reminiscent faintly of Andy Shauf, and so I checked out the video, too. While I didn’t expect such goofy visuals, the music clip has its appeal, and in its silliness also lies a big junk of truth. And the oversized keytar is priceless. Asked about “Don’t” vocalist/keyboardist **Ian Klin** says:

> “‘Don’t is about being young and heartbroken and unable to stay with someone despite caring a lot about them. The song was written during an emotional break up in my early 20s. I felt blindsided and unable to process. The lyrics are dramatic because at that time everything felt heavy and surreal. In contrast, the music behind the lyrics is upbeat and lighthearted as if to say that there are better days ahead despite what you may be going through.”
