First loves often don’t last, so the idea behind “All I Ever Wanted Was Us” can seem naïve in hindsight. Still, the memories linger, and when Los Angeles singer-songwriter [**Tessa Rae**](https://glamglare.com/artist/tessa-rae?ref=glamglare.com) revisits a story from her past, she is drawn back in. Her new song is dreamy and melancholic, an indulgence for a quiet moment when you are certain, looking back, that things turned out for the better.

Tessa says:

> This song carries a deep longing to go back to the way things were. Every few years, I feel that ache again. But there's something powerful, and beautiful, in choosing to keep moving forward.
