# Swimming Bell - Meet My Shadow

**Katie Schottland**, who makes music as [**Swimming Bell**](https://new.glamglare.com/artist/swimming-bell?ref=glamglare.com), just announced her new EP*,* [*Somnia*](https://new.glamglare.com/album/swimming-bell-somnia?ref=glamglare.com)*,* produced by **Rob Schnapf** (Elliott Smith, Kurt Vile, Cat Power). The first single from that five-song album is the stunning and absolutely mesmerizing "Meet My Shadow." I find the song instantly loveable and dreamy in a 70s, nostalgic kind of way, and I am looking forward to *Somnia*, which comes out May 16 via [Perpetual Doom](https://www.perpetualdoom.com/?ref=glamglare.com). There's a clear theme behind *Somnia*, as Katie explains:

> *"I wanted this EP to feel like sinking into water, where everything is softened and suspended. Given all the stress and tension in the world, I wanted to make a feeling of escape - something hypnotic and transportive. Rob and I explored percussive layers in a way that felt both grounding and dreamy, creating movement within."*
