# sophie-lou - How to not expect too much

Excited to feature a new up-and-coming artist from Denmark: please meet [**sophie-lou**](https://new.glamglare.com/artist/sophie-lou?ref=glamglare.com), who asks the difficult question “How to not expect too much.” Personally, I think that’s impossible — in my book, it’s important to set the bar high. But of course, sophie-lou and I come from different life circles and experiences. Asked about the track, she shares:

> I had lost my mother—the most important person in my life—and I had done everything to escape that grief. When I finally found a home, I fell in love for the first time while still completely broken. The song was born from that collision.

Her debut EP *It’s easy to be soft* is out October 3\. It’s a love letter to vulnerability — a musical safe space built from diary entries and fearless emotional honesty.

> *“The EP is about choosing softness in a world that tells you to harden. I’ve learned to take my vulnerability seriously — and that has opened up a much more compassionate space, both for myself and for others.”*

Behind the artist moniker stands **Sofie Emilie Maintz Thorsen**, who produced the EP herself. It was mixed by Nanna Schannong (Lowly), mastered by Alma Hede (De Må Være Belgiere), and will be distributed via Virgin Records.
