What makes “Happy Today”, the new single by Manchester 4-piece **[Octopus](https://www.facebook.com/octopusmusic/)**  stand out, is its intelligent build with stunning twists and turns that are especially surprising for young musicians.

**Rowan Well**‘s skillfully booming bass lines provide “Happy Today” with a welcoming earthiness over which **George Hunter**‘s gorgeous vocals can soar or hum along and together with fellow guitarist **Joe Smethurst** and **Freddie Hunter** on drums, they form this exciting new Britpop band. “Happy Today” will receive some visual treatment soon and when asked about a sneak peak, the quartet provides:

> “It’s about things not quite going your way and doing nothing about it… except sliding into some corduroy.”

“Happy Today” is such a lovely song, so I am naturally curious to see how the video turns out.
