# SONG PICK: New Pharaohs - Ya Habibi Yalla

Maya Marie aka [**New Pharaohs**](https://www.facebook.com/newpharaohsmusic/) grew up in Lebanon and her new track “Ya Habibi Yalla” is about her experiences in Beirut, a city with a troubled history. But that doesn’t mean that you could not find beauty and joy there too and this song perfectly reflects this sentiment. Maya explains:

> Ya Habibi Yalla’ means ‘come on baby’ in Arabic and is also the title of a very famous party song by The Gypsy Kings which has played every night in Beirut clubs since the 90s. It’s a nod to reminiscing the good old days on the shores of the troubled Levant. 

New Pharaohs will release her debut album “Antelias” on July 5th. Watch the lyric video for “Ya Habibi Yalla” here:
