In a recent post on his socials, Crawford Mack explains that reading William McIlvanney’s ‘The Weekend’ would have inspired “Firing Squad” because it got him thinking “*whether those in positions of authority that wrong others would be able to do so if they were made to see the vulnerability of those they wronged,*“.
