The smart, brilliantly executed rock by five-piece [**I/O**](https://www.facebook.com/IOmusic/), led by Tyler Hicks, provided a much-needed chill-down afterwards. They demonstrated that if you can play your instruments that well, it works even without vocals. If La Moreno took us closer to the underworld, bi-coastal duo [**Holy Golden**](https://www.holygolden.com/?ref=glamglare.com) lifted us closer to the sun again (as much as it is possible in a basement venue). Leslie Schott and Andrew Valenti’s clear-eyed, bright pop and charming performance is a beautiful experience on any given day, but fitted into this showcase like a keystone. Closing out the night was the return of [**The Sleeping Tonges**](https://www.facebook.com/thesleepingtongues/). Each time we see the band around singer/songwriter Craig Kepen, they bring more energy to the room. Watch out for their upcoming EP.
