# Oh He Dead - California [Video]

Washington, DC-based funky rock-band **[Oh He Dead](https://glamglare.com/artist/oh-he-dead?ref=glamglare.com)** delights with the exuberant “California,” a song that sparkles with fun and joy. Founded by CJ Johnson and Andy Valenti, the duo grew to a five piece. Thinking about California, a lot of images and possible experiences come to mind, yet CJ went a different direction, making the track even more exciting. Asked about the inspiration for “California,” CJ says:

“Really the story of this song is that I wanted to write the poppiest song imaginable. First I just started singing about California. I can count on my fingers, on one hand in fact, the number of times I’ve been there. But I feel like it’s where everyone writes their pop songs and the subject of so many pop songs. It was all a fantasy in my head. I was really just imagining a girl going to California one day and meeting a guy and hooking up with him and coming home to a totally different life that she leads…not necessarily having an affair, just having a life that is pretty regular and predictable. But this one time she went to California and had a very young, wild and free experience.”
