# Mega Bog - Cactus People [Video]

For her fifth album, *[End of Everything](https://glamglare.com/album/mega-bog-end-of-everything?ref=glamglare.com)*, Erin Birgy aka **[Mega Bog](https://glamglare.com/artist/mega-bog?ref=glamglare.com)** takes a turn from her indie folk roots into synth-pop territory. The latest single, “Cactus People,” contrasts bright synths with Erin’s voice. But it is not a light-hearted song: “Cactus People” as the entire album was written under the impression of the events of 2020.

She says about the song:

> “This song is a transparent call to practice addressing what lies at the feared feet of abandonment. All of a sudden I realized I was running away, with a black widow bite, collapsing on a trail several hours out of town, alone. Reacting to something inevitable, something I desired even, and taking notes of images arising while pitting emotionality against logic. At the time they felt like enemies, but somewhere in there was a seed wailing, ‘just watch yourself unfold.'”
