It's a journey of self-discovery that London-via-Lisbon singer-songwriter [**Maripool**](https://glamglare.com/artist/maripool?ref=glamglare.com), aka Natacha Simões, follows both in this single and across her debut album, [*Rotten Luck*](https://glamglare.com/album/maripool-rotten-luck?ref=glamglare.com). She never reveals what actually happened — the thing that presumably led to her move to London — but the song lets us feel its weight when she closes it with the wish to be left alone.

Natacha explains:

> I think for me it’s the saddest song in the record, it’s about being back with my family in the place I grew up but never really talking about the things that went wrong and just pretending everything is fine.
