# Janita - Real Deal

New York-based multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and songwriter [**Janita**](https://new.glamglare.com/artist/janita?ref=glamglare.com) has released her tenth studio album, [*Mad Equation*](https://new.glamglare.com/album/janita-mad-equation?ref=glamglare.com), a collection full of mesmerizing twists and stunning turns. Her gorgeous vocals tie everything together, bringing cohesion and depth to the record. For me, the album’s opener, “Real Deal,” is a standout track and as strong a start to a record as one could hope for. It is perhaps the most ‘rock’ moment on the album, with piercing guitars and sweeping synths that evoke the spirit of big ’90s pop, updated with a sleek, contemporary production. About the album, Janita says:

> “My songs these days are not just about one thing. There are many threads running through them—threads of love, of anger, of determination, of hope—but at their core, the songs on this record are about knowing the difference between what’s true, and what’s not. This record is my story, but given where we all are right now at this moment in history, it might as well be the story of the whole fucking world.”
