"elastic" could easily pass as a carefree, disco-infused summer dance banger, if Carlyn Bezic, aka [**Jane Inc.**](https://glamglare.com/artist/jane-inc?ref=glamglare.com)**,** didn't open the song with the line "I wanna get closer to death, Feel it shatter against my head." Still, it all makes sense, though, as Carlyn explains:

> “elastic” was inspired by performing in the aftermath of the car accident. The experience unlocked something for me, and I felt I could perform with more freedom and abandon than ever before. Here I imagine the audience as a lover, and under their gaze, life is filled with pure Dionysian possibility: an unrolling and malleable series of nows.
