[**Frances Chang**](https://new.glamglare.com/artist/frances-chang?ref=glamglare.com)’s “Auratones of desire” is minimal, warm, and beautifully strange, with gently creeping strings and an inviting sense of suspense. The Brooklyn-based musician and multimedia artist lets her voice move through the song’s spare, subtly experimental arrangement with such charm that its psychological unease never feels heavy-handed, but rather quietly fascinating.

Chang describes “Auratones of desire” as “a classic psychological story of projection,” beginning with the fear of running into an unnamed figure and shifting into disappointment at their absence. The noir-like strings that follow her throughout give that small emotional drama a lovely, cinematic pull.
