# Everyone Says Hi - Life Isn’t Perfect

“Put a message in a bottle, what a careless thing to do.” With that wonderfully playful line, “Life Isn’t Perfect” sets off on its joyful way. [**Everyone Says Hi**](https://new.glamglare.com/artist/everyone-says-hi?ref=glamglare.com) pair 70s-style flanger effects with lovely harmonies, a huge, instantly catchy chorus, and a fabulous guitar solo that gives the song yet another lift.

Lead singer **Nick Hodgson** says:

> “This song was finished, but it wasn’t finished. I sent the album to Freddie Cowan formerly of the Vaccines and he said he had some guitar ideas for it. It had already been mixed, but we said to him go for it, see what happens. He sent back about 35 tracks of guitar which was crazy and amazing. The result became some of my favourite moments on the album. It was already a favourite song of mine, but it needed something extra. It’s got a classic REM kind of chorus that literally just came out of nowhere, the lyrics are loosely based around a phrase my daughter learned at nursery, ‘you get what you get and you don’t get upset’, I think it’s referring to lunchtime etiquette!”

That chorus might even inspire a German version around here. Life may not be perfect, but this song comes delightfully close.
