# Eliza McLamb - Like the Boys [Video]

For her second album, the Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter [**Eliza McLamb**](https://glamglare.com/artist/eliza-mclamb?ref=glamglare.com) sought out good stories from her life, which didn't always have to be happy. The first single, *“Like the Boys,”* reflects on her younger self trying to emulate the boys around her—boys who always seemed one step ahead.

She recalls: 

> “Like the Boys” is about being a girl among the boys. I wanted to gain their authority, their audacity. I wanted them to love me like they loved each other. And looking back now, I see how we all played pretend with one another. I also see how play can be violent.”
